Otrivin 1mg/ml
For the short-term treatment of nasal congestion in the case of colds and acute sinusitis in adults and children over 12 years of age. Otrivin nasal spray is an over-the-counter medicine that contains the active ingredient xylometazoline, which works as a decongestant in the nose by causing a local contraction of the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, reduces swelling and opens the airways. The effect of Otrivin starts within a few minutes and lasts up to 12 hours. Dosage: 1 spray in each nostril as needed, up to 3 times a day. There should be at least 6 hours between each dose. The last dosage can be taken shortly before bedtime. First try treating a stuffy nose with saline (spray or drops), before starting treatment with Otrivin. Important information: Otrivin should not be used for more than 10 consecutive days in adults, as long-term use can lead to persistent nasal congestion. Local irritation may occur during use in the form of burning or irritation in the nose, mouth and throat. Otrivin 1 mg/ml nasal spray should not be used by children under 12 years of age. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
