Movicol
Movicol is a softening laxative used for the short-term treatment of a sluggish stomach in adults and children over 12 years of age. Movicol is an over-the-counter medicine. It can be used by pregnant and breastfeeding women and has a chocolate flavour. Movicol contains the active ingredient Makrogol 3350, which binds water and increases the intestinal volume at the same time as the intestinal contents become softer. This stimulates the bowel movements and you get a laxative effect. Movicol is not absorbed by the body and disappears with the faeces. Contains salts to prevent disturbances in salt and fluid balance. When using Movicol, it is important to have sufficient fluid intake to achieve the desired effect, and you should therefore drink plenty of water.
